6.8 Tips for Creating Interactive Elements and Exercises
An interactive element is what a student uses to try out a concept or tool. The more students are forced to use what they are learning, the better students retain the information. An exercise comes in a couple of different formats.
  1. If the material is complicated, use an interactive element. This helps the student learn by breaking the information into pieces.
  1. Use a simulation to give the student an opportunity to use the subject you are discussing.
  1. Use a video to show a student how a complicated task is performed or what it looks like.
  1. Break the information presented in the video or simulation into a series of steps.
    1. A movie or tour gives the learner a way to view the entire process.
    1. A step-by-step provides and easy way to understand how they can perform a task.
