Choose a location with low foot traffic
- Hive front clearance - Bees need six to eight feet for take off and landing
- Clearance on either side, and at the rear of the hive is essential for beekeeping tasks
- High walls near the hive force the bees to fly higher so they are less likely to encounter humans and cars.
