3.6 Hive Entrance
  1. A hive entrance is the space at the bottom of the hive, through which the bees enter and leave.
  2. There is a small, around ½ inch, ledge that the brood box sits on.
  3. Typically the bottom of the entrance is made from a screen so that mites and dirt can fall through the bottom of the hive.
    It's True! It's True! Hive openings in the western part of the US is 3/8", back east the opening is 3/4"
