3.4 About Boxes
  1. Brood boxes
    1. In California many beekeepers use only one brood box
      1. Hives with only one brood box need to be checked more frequently to prevent overcrowding
    2. Some bee keepers prefer to have two brood boxes
  2. Honey boxes
    1. Brood boxes are below the honey boxes, separated by a queen excluder
    2. Honey boxes are stacked on top of brood boxes
    3. A beekeeper may have one, two, three, or more honey boxes stacked on top of their brood boxes.
