The table located at Appendix B to 172.101,” List of Marine
Pollutants”, contains two columns. Column 1 is labeled
“S.M.P.” for Severe Marine Pollutants and Column 2 is
labeled “Marine Pollutant”. If the material is listed in Column 2
of Appendix B, it is a marine pollutant. If the letters “PP”
appear in Column 1, the material listed in Column 2 is a
Severe Marine Pollutant (S.M.P.), otherwise it is not.
