Competitive Questions

  1. How does ReadyGo compare to tools like Macromedia?
  2. Answer
Macromedia is a powerful tool geared for the needs of professional graphic artists. It takes an average person two-week training course to learn to use Macromedia's tools, about 6 weeks to produce a training course, and about six months of continual use to become proficient . Most content experts will need only a 30 minute overview of the ReadyGo WCB to create a course. With ReadyGo WCB, they can become proficient course developers within a few days.
  3. How is ReadyGo different than PowerPoint?
  4. Answer
PowerPoint is a presentation tool where as ReadyGo Web Course Builder is a training tool. An analogy is you could use MS Word to create presentations but MS PowerPoint provides capabilities that make the creation of presentations easier. Even though PowerPoint can be saved and viewed on the web, it is cumbersome and missing many features like testing, quizzes, drill downs, simulations, links to resources, glossary, help, and FAQ. ReadyGo WCB includes these features and creates HTML pages that load quickly, are searchable, editable, and can be read by a blind reader. Whereas PowerPoint provides page-to-page navigation ReadyGo provides multiple level navigation - page-to-page, chapter, and site map navigation. The needs of a presenter and someone taking a course over the web are different. Presentations are given in a linear, page-to-page manor. Whereas good web training should provide students with the ability to access the information at many levels and use the training as a resource.
  5. Why should I use ReadyGo WCB when I can use one of these PowerPoint to Flash converters?
  6. Answer
PowerPoint is a learning object not eLearning. The question you need to ask is: do you want to create a course to train people or is your goal to eliminate one of your deliverables? With PowerPoint to Flash, you now have an automated presentation. This is not training, nor is it good web content. ReadyGo has a tool that moves PowerPoint into ReadyGo WCB. This may be a good start for creating a training course. There are many additional features in ReadyGo WCB that make a ReadyGo created class instructionally sound.
