Server-Side Testing Features
The ReadyGo Server-Side Testing module is a tracking/assessment engine that complements the Web Course Builder. With it, you can register an unlimited number of students, randomize question order, save scores (including individual test/survey/self-assessment responses), and produce reports on the stored data.

"ReadyGo SST installs quickly, works well, and saves more information than any LMS I have used."
- Wes Kench, T. W. Kench, Inc.

  1. Definition of Server-Side Testing
    1. CGI (Common Gateway Interface routine - standard web-form processor) that resides on a web server and stores data on that machine as comma-separated variable files.
    2. Designed to properly handle results submitted simultaneously by multiple students.
    3. Source code for the Server-Side Testing module is provided for customer customization (for integration) and for security review.
    4. Modules written in C. Compiled executables are provided. Java Servlet version also available
    5. Course authors configure student registration and storage options in ReadyGo Web Course Builder. (They don't need to go to a separate interface to configure/maintain the tracking component.)
  1. Server-Side Testing grading and storage features
    1. Student Pre-registration (through spreadsheet file) or self-registration.
    2. Courses may be password-protected to control access.
    3. Unlimited number of students may take the courses.
    4. Up to 20 additional registration fields such as department, and location.
    5. Optional password requirement for student registration.
    6. Storage of all answers and scores or just of scores.
    7. Question and answers order randomization.
    8. Test/survey generation at run-time or at course generation.
    9. Track subsets of tests/surveys in course
    10. Creation of student certificates after completion of the course
    11. Track amount of time students are on each test page or on each content page
    12. Central student list that can be shared between courses - this allows cross-course reports (curriculum)
    13. Test question pooling (Serve 10 of 50 questions for example)
    14. Fast integration into existing user databases - Ability to launch SST and register students from a URL
    15. Options for central storage of SST events across selected courses: SST can be configured so that every time someone takes a test (in any course), their score, name, date, test name, course name, etc. is stored in a single file that can summarize everything that has happened. It can also be configured that information is stored when someone registers, is denied access, is denied access to a test, or requests a certificate
    16. Limit number of times each test can be taken
    17. Limit number of days a student has to complete the course
  1. Registration capabilities
    1. Students may self-register - No password is required. This option allows for storage of results from any one taking a course.
    2. Students with a password may self-register - This option allows all students who have been given a password to register and take the course.
    3. Students must be pre-registered - Course author identifies students who may take the course and creates a list with these names.
    4. Scores are only saved if a student is registered.
    5. The course administrator can change the password at any time. All students need to re-input the password if it has been changed.
  1. Student and tracking reports
    1. Generate the following reports:
      • Student List - list of registered students, date they registered
      • Individual test report - All results for a specific test
      • Student Report - All test results for a specific student
      • Certificate report - Students that have reached the certificate
      • Course Grade Book - List of registered students with best/first scores for each tests and a total/aggregate score
      • Cross- Course Grade Book - For each student in a group of courses, list first/best scores for each course and a cross-course aggregate score
    2. Information tracked:
      • Up to 20 registration fields plus first name, last name, and date of registration.
      • Ever answer for every tracked question
      • Date and time the student submits responses
      • Elapsed time on test
      • Student computer's IP address
    3. Reports are customizable
    4. Administrative groups - Access to reports can be segmented based on registration information (e.g. "company name", "department") so that multiple supervisors can see their personnel's results.
    5. An e-mail can be automatically sent to an administrator when an event (test pass, fail, completion) occurs.
  1. ReadyGo Administrator
    1. A set of PHP routines to simplify upload and publication of courses created with ReadyGo WCB
    2. Multiple course creators can each have their own section or folder on the server for their courses or can share one section or folder on the server.
    3. Course creators can use ReadyGo Administrator to easily post courses and update a course list (course index) that is displayed to learners.
