2.7 Swarms
  1. Hives typically swarm in the spring.
  2. The queen leaves the hive
    1. Thousands of bees follow the lead worker bees pheromone
    2. This intense group of bees flying around usually only lasts 10 to 20 minutes
  3. The queen will land on a branch or wall
  4. Thousands of flying bees will gathers around the queen
  5. The bees are not protecting a hive and do not respond defensively
  6. Scout bees look for a new location
  7. Swarms are easiest to catch if they are located within reach and are clustered, hanging off of a branch.
