6.1 Information Organization
Effective courses have the following characteristics:
  1. The information flows and builds from one page to another. Information from one page leads into following pages and the user is expected to follow a generally linear progression through the material.
  2. The material is easy to follow; technical terms or difficult ideas are provided within context of the subject and include definitions and explanations. Use analogies if they help explain the concepts. Similarly, animated graphics may be applied if they improve clarity.
  3. The content is self-motivated. The material should explain its importance and relevance to the student.
  4. If the class is geared for employees, it should show a business motivation. This includes tips on how the material can be applied within a professional setting.
