5.11 Tips for Creating Interactive Elements
Interactive elements are designed to help the student learn the material.
  1. If the material is complicated, use an interactive element. This helps the student learn by breaking the information into pieces.
  1. Use a simulation to give the student an opportunity to use the subject you are discussing.
  1. Use a video to show a student how a complicated task is performed or what it looks like.

If you are training on a computer skill, for example MS Excel, have the student split their screen. Half the screen will be the course, the other can be used to try the new skill.
