Common issues you should know about your student before you create an online course.

1. Home: Depending on the company's policies and the configuration of the students computer you can include voice and plug-ins with the training course. Be careful if you decide to use plug-ins or sound. Many people don't know how to download plug-ins. It is best not to include course material that needs a plug-in to work.

1. Office: Many employees work in cubicles. Also, many companies do not allow plug-ins through their firewall. Unless you know that the student already has the plug-in installed on their computer, you should avoid multimedia that requires a plug-in in a training course. Common multimedia that requires plug-ins is audio and video.

2. Yes - use quizzes to reinforce learning. Include tests; choose the "record test option".

3. Sales - Most sales people only have small time segments in which they can take a course. Keep the course short. If there is a lot of information break the subject matter into mini-courses that the student can take in 15 minute intervals.

3. Technical - Technical staff will spend, on average, an hour-and-a-half taking an online course. Break subject matter into modules that can be taken in less than an hour-and-a-half.
